FOREVER SALWANIAN

Dear Salwanian,

We are all geared up  to set out on a joyous journey in search of totality (Purna) and wholeness (Akhanda) to establish the right purpose and right direction of an individual’s life as well as that of the society.

In the present information oriented and automated world, economic performance is ranked above all, and there is an unparalled explosion of knowledge. What is urgently needed is a matching explosion of spiritual wisdom, to make proper use of that enduring knowledge.

Towards this goal, we invite you to a dance drama “KATHA PANCHAM VED KI”, being staged on the occasion of our Annual Day function at  5.30 p.m. on Sunday, the 15th of November, 2009 at   the Siri Fort Auditorium.

With warm regards,

FOREVER SALWANIAN

Dear Salwanian,

We congratulate you on your success in the Board Examination and wish you all the best for your future.  It is indeed a momentous occasion for you because you will now be entering a new phase of your life from school to college.   However, the 12 years you have spent in this beautiful institution has given you the branding of a Salwanian---‘Once a  Salwanian,  forever a Salwanian’. The family of Salwanians grows each year but there is something which weaves them  together in a common thread.  This bonding should never become weak.  All steps should be taken to  strengthen  this link.

As you all know, SPOSA is an ex-Salwanians Association which  keeps in touch with the ex-students as well as the school and help through interactions and other activities.     In other words, it  is a forum to unite and share  nostalgic moments.   I also take this opportunity to apprise you of some steps taken by the existing SPOSA office bearers with the help of the contributions made by the Salwanians we have been able to sponsor the fees of two meritorious students of the school, who  had lost their father!.  Moreover, we have also come out with the first ever SPOSA newsletter.  Soon a dinner for the ex-salwanian is also on the cards.   The intimation for the same would be through an advertisement in the newspaper.

However, meaningful activities  cannot be undertaken without adequate finances.  Hence, we request you to become life members by paying a nominal fee of Rs.300/-.  SPOSA is also in the process of engaging a part-time data-operator for compiling a comprehensive ex-salwanian directory which would be made available soon at the school reception.  You must appreciate that the present office bearers are busy individuals,  hence we would like the fresh badge of Class XII to take up the  mantle of continuing with the activities of SPOSA.  Those Salwanians, who are interested in taking up  some responsibility  should either  get in touch with any of the following Honorary officials on the numbers & e-mail IDs given against their names or write to the SPOSA email Id :-

Mr. Sanjay Chawla, Vice-President / 9810131059

Mr. Gurpreet, Secretary / 9810465561,

We would look forward to  your valuable suggestions.

Dear Salwanian,

Dance and music define the aspirations of people worldwide; their feelings, emotions and even their frustrations. On the other hand they are the great sources which help mankind to find oneness with God. Lively music sets the soul free while dance gives us the power to be energetic and enthusiastic.

In India, music and dance ignite every social sphere of interaction-- in temples, in courts and pleasure palaces, villages and their chaupals, precisely because both these art forms uplift us spiritually as well as soothe our senses

Salwan Public School provides ample opportunities for students to pursue Indian Classical Music and dance so that we can keep our rich tradition and culture alive.

Talented students are encouraged to enroll in certified courses from recognized universities and regular classes are conducted for them so that by the time they pass out of school, they also become professional, accredited artists in their respective fields.

You are cordially invited to ’SAMANVAY’, a cultural amalgamation of Indian Classical Music and Dance on., Thursday, 14th of May, 2008 at 6.30 p.m. at Sriram Centre , Mandi House, New Delhi.

We request you to encourage our budding artists, who will give their debut performance, by gracing the occasion of ‘Samanvaya’ on the date and time mentioned above.

With Warm Regards,

Dear Salwanians,

“Treat the Earth well

It was not given to you by your parents

It was loaned to you by your children.”

Natural calamities, like tornadoes, hurricanes and blizzards occurred much before man began to walk on planet Earth.  However, man- made calamities like acid rain or the hole in the ozone layer due to man’s apathy towards the environment have started making a visible impact in the world today.

Similarly, pollution may not have the sudden strong impact of a roaring hurricane, but it has the subtle power to change life, globally.  Having created and contributed to this problem, it becomes our responsibility to find a solution as well.  we at Salwan Public School have taken a small, yet significant step towards saving our environment.

Nearly 25,000 saplings have been planted in the adopted portion near the Ridge so far. Thanks to the efforts of our students, teachers,  support staff, local councilors and parents, the Ridge which is now lush and green, has become a delightful patch and an aesthetic pleasure to behold.

The theme for this year’s Vanmahotsav is ‘Gift a tree to your child’. We have request parents to come forward on this occasion and plant saplings for their children, for their green tomorrow, so that, they too can enjoy the shade, breathe fresh air and live a healthy life.

Dear Salwanians, we invite you too , to join us in celebrating this year’s ‘Vanmahotsav’ on Saturday, 26 July, 2008 at 8.30 a.m.  The March from school to the Ridge will be flagged off at 9.30 a.m., after a brief Cultural Programme. Your presence will strengthen our zeal and determination to make a difference.  Salwanians who wish to come to the ridge directly may reach the venue by 9:30 a.m.

We eagerly look forward to your participation for the success of our programme.

Yours truly,
